How To Defy Eyesight Genetics (written for How To Improve Eyesight)
Would you take advice from a 75 year old man who worked successfully as a doctor for all of his working years, spent much of his time reading books with very small print, and never ever has had to wear glasses? Further, everyone else in his family did wear glasses.
What advice does he give? Eye exercises. There are many that a person can do, but you can just start with focusing on three. I did checkout the three that he suggested, and then went on to do further research of my own. After six months of regimented effort, I know longer need glasses. For now, I will give you the same three exercises that he gave to me.
Palming. Warm your hands, then cup them over your eyes. Relax your mind and then your eyes will rest too. Rest your elbows on something stable so that your entire body can be relaxed. You can do this for at least fifteen minutes, and watch for the color of the darkness to go from grey to black.
Sunning. Rest yourself outside on a sunny day. Rest with your eye gently closed and feel the brightness and warmth of the sun on your eyelids. You can turn your head so that one eye takes in the light at a time.
Focusing. Put two small objects about thirty centimeters apart and try to see only one of them.
Natural Methods to Benefit Your Eyes
So many people today use glasses and contacts to fix their vision. There are other ways to improve your eyesight. You can even regain 20/20 vision with some natural methods and a little daily effort.
Our bodies in general benefit from exercises, and our eyes are no different. Straining your eyes when using the computer or watching TV can lead to deterioration in vision. It can also lead to regular migraines and headaches. To avoid this, you can do eye exercises and eye relaxation practices.
Palming is very beneficial to your eyes. Warm your hands by rubbing them together and cup them over your eyes to keep light out. Picture things that you love doing, and stay in that mode for about three to four minutes. Afterwards, you will feel refreshed and you will be able to see more clearly.
Also, you can simply be careful that you do not stare at anything for too long. Shift your eyes to other positions when needed. And, if your eyes are feeling particularly strained, take a nap. Naps relax your eye muscles.
Watch your diet, also. Be sure to include Vitamin A, and get plenty of sleep to ensure ocular health, also.
Diet and Good Lifestyle Habits Make For Better Eyesight
Kids today increasingly are suffering from poor eyesight. Keep a watch out for symptoms of weak eyes: burning eyes that become watery, persistent cold symptoms, regular headaches, impaired vision, and hazy vision. In some of these children, their eyesight is suffering because of nutritional deficiency.
A balanced diet and lifestyle is required for kids to avoid weakening eyesight. Kids need vitamin A especially for healthy eyes. Lettuce promotes healthy eyes. Papaya, bananas, carrots, broccoli, and spinach contain good doses of vitamin A. Peanuts and raisins are also good for eyesight. Children should be ingesting vitamin C, also; oranges, lemons, tomatoes, will all support the health of the eyes.
Herbs such as oregano, parsley, and turmeric improve eyesight. Omega 3-fatty acids found in tuna, mackerel, and salmon are favorable choices, along with egg yolks and dairy product. Foods rich in sulfur are beneficial also, such as onion, garlic, shallots, and capers.
In addition to monitoring eating habits, avoid watching TV for long hours or working on computers. Reading in too little light is not a good idea. And, too much alcohol is ill-advised for optimal eyesight also.
